Water World

The sports and leisure centre at the outskirts of Prague, yet well accessed by public transport. Three independent volumes connected by entry corridors, parts of them stepping back, graded upwards. Part of the complex is a parking lot and a bus stop. The volumetric design is based on the spatial requirements and operational links of the three parts of the Water World –. Halls are roofed by gable roofs. The entry corridors have flat roofs with parapets. Frame structures with a façade consisting of system metal sheet shingles complemented by glazed parts shaded by a system of horizontal louvers.  Each building is a one-story structure; there is a basement for the swimming pool technology only under one part. A multi-purpose sports hall for hockeyball, floorball, volleyball, basketball, tennis, badminton, table tennis, etc. telescopic tribunes. The swim hall features a 25-m swimming pool for condition swimming, a recreation swimming pool with a wild river, bubble bath seats and benches, gargoyles and infant’s play-pool, multipurpose sports halls, swimming pool halls and a Baby Centre, technical facilities, lockers for swimmers. A common reception with a Baby Centre allocated for swim courses for children of different age. There are four small pools, lockers, a waiting room with a bar, rooms with a bar, a lecture room, BOH facilities, and a garden in the Baby Centre
